Still wish they would've put the classic white spider logo on him. It's kinda like seeing the Punisher w/out the skull logo on his chest. Just do it already! Iambaytor
From the people I've heard from that I trust, it's fine. It's kind of a mess and it doesn't really work but it's fun. Reminiscent of the 2000s era non-spider-man superhero movies.
alive she cried
Yeah, a lot of reviews say it's a standard pre MCU typical superhero film, that it feels like it's travelled through time it's so dated. And then waver between shit and very average in their overall verdicts.
Iambaytor
All's I know is that the A.V. Club gave it a C and they are notoriously hard on movies so it can't be that awful.
Little Nemo McFly
I still hold this will be the best of the 3...this already being 'not good'.
Iambaytor
I was surprised by how much I like this but there's no way it's going to appeal to about 97% of people.

Iambaytor
You probably won't be. The movie does what I want Venom to do from a character standpoint. Eddie Brock isn't a bad person, he has a good heart but severely off-kilter moral compass so he just sort of pounds the round peg until it fits in the square hole, add a kinship with a carnivorous space alien with a child's understanding of Earth and its society and you got yourself a stew. It's also maybe the first superhero movie where the female lead has her own agenda and life that she doesn't throw away for the hero and she is at no point ever damseled in any way shape or form. The NZA
yeah that sounds turrible not seeing the part where it'd lose me quiet yet?
Iambaytor
It's pretty clear that a bunch of stuff was cut, editing is occasionally weird, the humor is C+ at best, and aside from Eddie and Anne (Michelle Williams' character) there's not much in the way of character to cling to. You didn't like Suicide Squad, I don't see you liking this.
Mr. Hakujin
Gonna see this on Sunday with much lower expectations than I had last week. Also, this. Yeesh.
Keth
Can't speak on the movie, but ^THAT^ was thoroughly terrible.
The NZA
Venom Producers Claim Sequel with Carnage May Not Be R-Rated Quote "You know what? When you hear Venom…forget Venom. When you hear, Carnage, the only thing you can think of is R. But, if you know his story, if you really know the comic, there’s no R here." Avi Arad told Collider. "He’s a tortured soul. It’s not about what he does, because we never have to show the knife going from here to there, and the blood is pouring. What you have to show is, what is the motivation? Was he born like that, or it’s someone we should feel for, because if you are succeeding to make a villain someone you can feel for, jackpot." can't wait for a bloodless carnage adventure! Jables
Ecch. There's so many characters you could take a bloodless identify-with-the-villain route and at this point has it not been done to death? His name alone would need to be nerfed to fit what they hope to achieve.
Iambaytor
Let me couch this statement in the fact that I agree the sequel should be R-rated buuuuut, The Dark Knight was PG-13 and they still managed to make it upsettingly violent. The NZA
i could be misunderstanding here, but it seems that you can get away with some gratuitous violence, so long as there's no blood/gore. which, if you wanted to tell a story with most villains - doom, magneto, thanos, etc - you absolutely can, and it can be quite dark at that. but no blood/gore with carnage, of all characters, feels like...a pointless endeavor, to me. Keth
Yeah, with the blood drained from a Carnage movie it would pale in comparison to other films of that ilk.
