Da Cap'n
You know, I've been thinkin' of joining Kirkman's forum. I'm not really into those huge forum sites, but I have been known to join 'em to recruit. Maybe I'll get some peeps from there? Maybe I'll get Kirkman himself? A boy can dream, can't he? Jables
Meh. I'd just abuse him and tell him he puts too much emphasis on characterisation and forfiets action or even story as a result.
The NZA
your mother forfeits action. Did you read the latest arc?! holy shit, itd shut your smarmy mouth. panch - do it. last time you went to an obscure forum, you dug up Metalhearts. think about it. also, the Walking Dead omnibus 2 needs a fuckin' street date soon. Those things are wrapped in plastic at the store so I never get a chance to read them, but what other than a hardcover do they have to offer me that my stack of trades do not? Jables
Hardcoverness. You hate anything cool so I guess you wouldn't understand the prestige of a sweet-as-fuck bookshelf. I will admit they're a bitch to read though.
Iambaytor
Oh I like hardcoverness but I've sunken about $100 into trades already and a hardcover, while cool, still just isn't going to do it for me.
Jables
Yeah, situations like that kill me too. Still, having the entire Preacher/Y trade collections, the minute they ever decide to release absolute or omnibii, try and stop me.

Iambaytor
The bigs ones have all that and more. Big ones meaning the Omnibison with the gray covers that have black zombie silhouettes?
Newtype
Big ones meaning the Omnibison with the gray covers that have black zombie silhouettes? The Omnibus, the Absolutes and any hardcover that has the 12 issues. Absolute copys of JLA/Avngers and Crisis (The one from the 80's) have so much extras that they need a compenoium book. (part of the set) The other books have anywhere between 10-30 pages of awesome shit I know your not big on Sandman the extras on the back are worth the few extra bucks. The NZA
exactly; yeah, $100's a lot for an omnibus and its up to you whether you're break your lap reading a 1,000+ or so page collection, but it depends on the book. Having 2 years of Walking Dead in one book has resulted in numerous roomies/friends reading the whole thing in part of a day and loving the series. some HC's i buy for the extras, no doubt, but some like, say, Ultimates 1 & 2 i buy cause i love the oversized-glossy-page-treatment Hitch's art rightfully gets there. Doesnt mean ill buy every series in hardcover, just the ones i really like.
Iambaytor
Ah, I doubt I'll do it, I loves me some Walking Dead but I still want to buy the Complete Badger, Kraven's Last Hunt, and Infinity Gauntlet so I think I'll put the money towards quantity rather than quality. The NZA
its not a bad strategy. i hear the extra's in the slipcase are in the HC's now, and even then, you can prolly find them somewhere as separate scans or something. really thought you were kidding about badger, though. Sure it can double as a weight but having everything in one book (Which would cost the same if you were to buy the 3-4 SC trades) is sweet. Iambaytor
really thought you were kidding about badger, though. You kidding me? Badger is a lost classic! I mean it's not the Tick, but nothing is.

Iambaytor
I love Flaming Carrot. Just wish I could find some trades. I actually have one, just one which I found by pure luck at a Borders in Chicago. But I mean Badger was pretty much Flaming Carrot with more bloodletting and when they actually explored his other personalities he was a pretty well put together character. Boogie
I kind of discover this one a couple of months ago, when I finally bought the first HC and boy it was good!! I liked the first artist better, though. But a great comic this is, yes sir. As soon as i get payed Im gonna buy HC's 2 & 3.
Jables
That's a big 10-4 Boog. The first artist was a lot tidier. Sure the new/regular guy's messy crap adds ambience in the same way Ben Templesmith does, but there's a lot to be said for clean fucking lines too.
