They took the same Dr. Light and just showed that he actually is a sadistic fucker he's just been labotomized. This is taking the most happy go lucky character and turn him into a badass by giving him some metal suit with spikes all over it so he looks like Death's Head 3.0? That's almost as stupid as Wolverine's underwater Iron-Man suit (which miraculously doesn't become depressurized when he pops his claws through it) You're absolutely right, Speedball was a fucking joke so they fix it by turning him into some kind of badass anti-hero? Fuck let's just skip the middleman here and turn Spacker Dave into the next Ghost Rider. Does everybody have to be Spawn or the fucking Crow these day? I thought Winter Solider was a stupid fucking gimmick because Bucky IS dead (But I can't throw too many stones cause DC did that whole Jason Todd/Red Hood shit) but it pretty much took away all the power and meaning that Bucky's death had way way way back when in the old Captain America comics. Yes I'm pre-emptively hating, cause it's a stupid idea, maybe they'll surprise me and spin gold out of this shit but they're really going to have to do good to change my mind. P.S. on the subject of making a joke character into a serious character Worked so well for Krypto, and don't even get me started on Lobo. Did you read the Winter Soldier arc? I know, the old "only these 3 stay dead" thing was violated twice in one year, but let's face it, it coulda been Chuck Austen or your boy Liefeld and his bucky-with-tits thatdve brought him back; Bru at least showed me why a WW II super-soldier'd bring a fucking kid in tights to war. i really thought that was worth the price of admission, but i get the feeling that, like Winter Soldier, a part of me's gonna hope Penance doesnt survive this arc. and then, ill hate along with you when he's 3 mini-series into "Penance: Lethal Protector" with the prism covers. ...but not until then! he's at least gonna get a chance, for having had some good setup in 10 isues of frontline. If this'd happend in like 3, id be with you, "WTF mate?" and pre-emptively hating but again, its Ellis on Thundebolts, im keepin the faith. fuck, Typeface apparently died, cant we celebrate that?! ...im also not gonna take the carrot and get into in an Iron Man suit, cause that was pretty bad and idve been just as forgiving if he'd used a teleporter to a open-air room of some kind. the stark armor logan is only 2 marvel legends series away from a figure, just you wait ...fuck, your hatred is rubbing off. I hear good things about "Beyond" and i have yet to read it, but im uncertain its Civil War that's holding up the return of Brock, i figure that's a card that'll get played convenietnly closer to the movie's release. the 3 i was referring to, as i know em, are bucky, jason todd & uncle ben. so, barring ret-cons and chameleon appearences, that's 1 out of the holy trinity of "must stay dead" characters still in the grave. it sucks too, cause they keep quietnly mentioning how one of the x-men wont survive this arc of astonishing, but i cant name you an x-man who hasnt died and come back...with the exception of, ironically, x-man. In other news, i hear the Tsunami Venom book from a while back was a bit of a bite off John Carpenter's Thing. heh, that came out funny. I ordered it from Barnes and Noble ages ago and pretty much forgot about it 'til I checked the mail. It's fucking sweet. Plus it only cost $4.50 and I ordered the next Powers trade (which hasn't shipped yet) so that made me qualify for free shipping. It's usually $50 too. I shoulda posted a link about it when I saw it 'cause I'm sure at least one Hondonian woulda ordered it for that price. The B&N post-christmas sale is the way of the future. I've noticed that every few years Marvel gets amnesia and forgets why Morbius the Living Vampire is a shitty character and I REALLY hope they don't try and revive him here. 2 questions...
