Mr. Hakujin
Watched The Hunger Games last week. It was good, but didn't live up to the hype. Hoping the next films are as good as people say, but frankly, I had been lead to believe this would be like the next Harry Potter, and it wasn't nearly that good. Trudat. I had the same experience. spiffytee
rewatched battle royale just for the heck of it... fun mindless violence.
Lycaon
Hunger Games. Missed the majority of the hype, so good times were had.
Keth
Ignore the shitty voiceover on that trailer, this was a pretty cool movie. I was hoping for a little more at the end, but it was cool for what it was.
Keth
Just watched . It was ok... worth a download. next up: Poultrygeist
Thelogan
I did a Poultrygeist/Thankskilling double feature awhile back. I'm not sure why I thought that would be a good idea.
Keth
Which one would you say is.... "better"?
Thelogan
Well...that's a really hard call. Poultrygeist has more singing, which is not good. Thankskilling has the memorable quotes "nice tits bitch" and "gobble gobble motherfucker", so it wins by a hair. I also had to laugh at a scene where he's 'in disguise'. Iambaytor
If not for the musical numbers Poultrygeist is fucking great.
the division of joy
Re-watched Monsters. Still as brilliant as it was the first time.
HypnotizinChikns
I need to watch Monsters. I keep forgetting about it.
Iambaytor
Go in with no expectations. It's an amazing movie but it's not at all what you're expecting.
La Lindsay
Bully I cried and cried but it was very powerful.
the division of joy
Go in with no expectations. It's an amazing movie but it's not at all what you're expecting. Pretty much this. Possibly one of my favorite movies of the last year or two.
Thelogan
Without asking questions potentially too spoilery, is that the one with the journalist guy in Mexico? Because that movie was bad-fucking-ass.
the division of joy
Photographer moreso, but aye.
Keth
Saw 21 Jump Street today. It was actually pretty damn hilarious.
sinestetici
Really? Is out on DVD yet? Demonoid I summon thee.
Keth
Nah not yet, I saw it in theaters. Glad I did though We haven't seen a good comedy in a long while.
Cathy
I saw Cabin in the Woods today. I think there was too much hype about it. Got my hopes up. Def not a favorite.
sinestetici
I reallllly want to see Cabin in the Woods. I'm a big JW fan; I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about it though. I've decided to just go in there without any preconceived ideas about what to expect, and hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised! Also, I watched The Vow the other night with my roomie. The movie itself was kinda sweet, but the soundtrack was just fantastic. I actually ended up going out an buying it. I also laughed WAY harder than I should have when the closing song was "Pictures of You" by The Cure. She has amnesia...she's trying to remember her husband...cue sentimental Cure song about photos and remembering old loves. It was so cliche, and I just couldn't help myself. Mr. Hakujin
Haywire Story and acting is meh and the pacing was poor, but the hand to hand fight scenes are fucking brutal (if not a bit repetitive). They make those Bourne scenes look like something that's go down at the Pich pit after Brandon borrowed then lost Dylan's fave hair product. Saw 21 Jump Street today. It was actually pretty damn hilarious. Saw it yesterday. I agree it was pretty funny. A lot of chuckles at Tatum's deadpan delivery. Though I found there were not a lot of laugh LOL moments, but there were a few.
Ganny McVagflaps
Corey Haim - Check Michael Ironside - Check A Young Jason Priestley - Check A dog who can fucking type and play Scrabble and "talk" - CHECK CHECK CHECKITY MOTHERFUCKING CHECK Wow. Thelogan
They made a movie outta that? How did I never know this? I will approach this with trepidation. Last time I discovered that a book I liked from childhood got turned into a movie a long time ago, it was Wolfen. *shudder*
Ganny McVagflaps
Shit, Wolfen was a flick I loved from my childhood and I didn't even know it was a book. I wouldn't chase down Watchers if I were you. Had you nothing invested in it and just wanted to watch Haim and Ironside in a fight to the death , then I'd say go ahead.
