Well, uh...christ. I saw most of it, and id havta say if you dont watch all of it, start to finish, an pay attention to it all, youre lost for sure. Ill let Yahven get more into it, i missed a few bits here & there an ended up one of the lost folks. Great animation & very smart shit, tho. Im lookin forward to seein it in its entirety too. Even so, ya can get used to it most times...you cant honestly prefer shitty dubbin, can you? Ive noticed that OAV's with their higher budget can get decent/good dubbin, but series often suck. I still havent seen past season 2 of Ranma 1/2, 'cause i saw one episdoe dubbed...:ill: Subtitles alla way, unless they move too damn quick. :afro:

People, enough bashin of the endings! Esca - Mulan is right, she and Lizi-chan just wanted to see a happy, unrealistic endin. Eva - The series' end had strong ideas, but just went bout them the wrong way by the very end *SPOILER* with the whole "congratulations!" part but it was showin how everythin merged. The OAV's end - with the 13th angel & Rei as yin and yang, talkin bout metaphysics/existentialism/nature of life etc was some deep shit. Ya might wanna watch it more than once, the ideas were a lil too big to be contained in such a small movie, least of all an anime. Not that its above anyone here, just might not be your thing, in which case, definitely dont watch Serial Experiments: Lain, which from the parts ive seen is along the same lines. Metal Gear Solid 2 ends in a similar manner, but on a much smaller, less-encompassin scale. Many hate it. I think brilliant endings like that, while they dont appeal much as clever but rather just confusin or dumb, usually end up around my favorites list, maybe its the philosophy thing. What can i tell ya. Even Mulan hated Brazil...

I used to think it sucked ass too - that it was an anime for kids whove never seen anime - mainly 'cause the pace of it, my god, its terribly slow. The one thing ill give it tho is that Kee showed me a anime music video (i like those things) of Dragonball/Z/GT etc collaged to the Dust Brothers "This is your life" from the movie Fight Club, was one of the best anime music vids ive seen, mad the series look fuckin cool. On that note, my personal favorites of anime music videos besides that one are FF IX - U2 (elevation), Macross Plus - Oasis (D'yer wanna be a spaceman), and quite possibly Ranma 1/2 - Proclaimers (500 miles). Also, Spiffytee showed me a great one back in the day called "On your Mark", think it mightve been by Katsuhiro Otomo, same guy as Akira, but i could be wrong.

Haha...it ought be noted i once read that that programmer's trick caused more hatemail to be sent to Sega than any other game created. Which is pretty interestin, considerin there was a low production run game for atari 2600 (i think) called "Custer's Revenge", which basically involved a naked indian woman tied ot a cactus & the player...uh, gettin his revenge on. It was pretty fucked up, but mildly funny. Again, still didnt piss off as many as X-men did, tho. Although if were talkin games that made ya violent...fuck Mortal Kombat, Ecco the Dolphin made me wanna snipe spotted owls. That damn creature had a mind of his own. Did anyone else play my copy of X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse for SNES? That shit was kinda fun, play as Cyk, Wolvy, Gambit, Beast or Psylocke, fightin Sentinels, Omega Red, Apocalypse, Exodus, Magneto etc....hard, but one of the better console comic games. Are we thinkin of the same one? Back in the day, at all those generic reststops when youre headin up north of miami, the arcades had a Superman game, i think it was by Taito. You'd walk around the level & beat up thugs like Final Fight, but some levles you'd fly and shoot your heat vision most of the time. Game was kinda fun 'cause itd alternate the levels a bit..what was the konami one like?

Man, Kee, I dont know what the fuck youre talkin bout. I remember this one time i was watchin a fight on pay-per-view, and in one of the many pre-fights, this one big ol' black guy was wailin the shit outta the other big ol' black guy, then the other guy did some shit where i dont fuckin remember cause my ass fell asleep waitin on the main event. Which wasnt very long, anyway, cause Tyson steps up right, then the other guy suffers a massive coronary on his way in the ring outta fear. Weird thing is, the other guy won by disqualification, cause crazy ass Tyson had to go & whip it out to pee on the dead guy, which was kinda in bad taste now that i think bout it. Then, they went to an interview with Roy Jones Jr in the crowd, and asked him when he'd move up & take on tyson himself, but he said he was first wantin to drop down to bout 115lbs or so to take on a bunch of elderly hobos in that division, for some reason. Then, on his way out the door, Tyson gets sucker punched by Buster Douglas & The Junkyard Dog, who claim they were the new Legion of Doom. Man, that was a great day in boxin. And all for the low, low price of $89.95 a month. I tell you what Kee, you just dont know what youre missin.

Careful with the *SPOILERS* there, alita. I agree - good animation, pace, fair characterization (ok, he was a pervert in one scene, cut him some slack!), but the overall plot, tho a bit of a mindfuck, was really fuckin smart. Granted, it helped to have studied existentialism a bit but even so, its the smartest anime ive seen, tho i havent finished Lain yet. Was also funny tryin to watch the OAV endin with alita, mulan & eyeore...ive never seen subtitles move so damn fast. Think i rewound every couple lines or so.
